We know the Olympic champion Usain Bolt as the world's fastest athlete but looks like he may have a competitor. Recently one of his records that he created at the age of 14 was broken. 13-year-old James Gallaugher completed the 200m run 0.08 secs faster than the 14-year-old Bolt registering 21.73 secs in Townsville establishing a new world best for his age group.

This NSW southcoast schoolboy previously came into light when he completed 100m run in 11.72 secs in 2012, the fastest recorded in Australia for his age group. He was hailed as the next Usain Bolt. “I want to keep running. I hope to run for Australia someday at the Olympics. I just hope to keep getting faster and faster,” he said then. And with this record win, he has made his way to selection for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He is being coached by former Olympian Lyn Foreman at the WA Institute of Sport.

So far the wonderkid has lived up to the expectations, Australian athletics is on the right track!
