A mother's concern:-

Criminally-inclined persons are not'normal' by any psychiatric standard. They are animalistic, predatory, and dangerous in their total disregard for others' liberties. So, if no one in their right mind would step without safety measures into a dangerous jungle where the only law is tooth & claw, why is it wrong for concerned parents to caution their daughters not to'invite' trouble?

I say, train your girls to fight tooth & claw( martial arts training) for their safety. Sensitize them towards responsible activities that exclude late night drunken soirees. We dont dive into the deep ocean without all necessary diving equipment; we dont enter blazing fire without proper training, oxygen mask and fire-retardant outfit; we dont even step out in the rain in our good clothes without an umbrella! We take every precaution possible to remain safe. Then what is the logic behind modern women demanding'freedom' to poke their heads into dangerous situations without caution? Can they change criminal tendencies in stalkers / rapists / muggers? Is it not foolishly suicidal to challenge depraved minds?

We cannot change others. We can, however decide to keep ourselves safe and secure with wise choices and discretion. One can be entertained without foolish risks also. Then why cause heartburn for your loving family?
