ABSENCE OF SENSE IS A VIRTUE (A POEM)
Absence of sense is a virtue
When nonsense rules supreme
In a crazy world gone topsy-turvy
As the young and the old alike
Don’t deem “thinking” essential!
The thinker winces in mortification
To see thought tossed into the waste bin.
He knows that future generations
Will not forage to bring “thinking” back
To rein in the absurd world to reason!
Man’s capacity to argue and reason
Is supplanted by his subtle emotions
That find a ready market among peers
Equally ignorant and similarly attuned,
Explosively to dangerous reactions!
Our books written by sages and prophets
Are now most conveniently interred
By callous indifference of wise guys
With sparkling heads having a yen only
For nursery rhymes and no serious epics!
