Everyone loves a good debate. But opportunities to engage in meaningful debates are often very few. Thankfully, we at MS have been very fortunate in this respect. As indicated in my MPL Curtain Raiser post, this edition of MPL is dedicated to the man who has given a new meaning, a new dimension to Debates on MS. Not only have his debates been extremely entertaining & educating, they have been absolutely free of controversy (takes some doing I assure you). Yes we are talking about the one and only Ajeetbhai, the King of Good Debates on MS.

Ladies and Gentlemen, please give a standing ovation to Ajeetbhai as he prepares to come out to bat the 41st innings of his life starting this Ides Of April (April 15th).

With a record like his, I'm sure we'll be lucky to watch many more splendid innings from him. Hope this year brings him all happiness and prosperity that he has ever aspired for. And a whole lot of debates for us to keep the MS spirit alive and kicking. Talking of kicking, can someone suggest how to give him e-bumps !!

Ajeetbhai has always been greatly influenced by Cinema. And quite understandably so. What better a medium for entertainment, introspection, showcasing Life, celebrating it and raising questions too. So in continuation of his wont, we shall celebrate this birthday with a Hapak-hapakka, har bowl pe chakka (excuse the Gulgule hangover) Debate. And the topic is :-

In today's context, is Cinema the mirror of Life or Does Life portray Cinema.

Would invite your views/comments/remarks on the topic. You can take either of the stances but would request you to cite examples in support of your argument and also to make it more interesting. eg, you might claim that watching the Red Violin inspired you to take up the instrument or even contemplate a career in it !!
