My college friend and I met up yesterday over coffee and chose a nearby fancy cafe as it brought back good old memories. It was clearly a bad choice. First of all, the place was cramped and over packed. We had to squeeze our way to our table after a 10 minute wait. The next chore was to locate a waiter who would pay some attention to us. With great difficulty, someone had pity on our let down faces and came up to us only to tell us that what we wanted was not available on the menu. We decided to just call for 2 simple, no nonsense, basic lattes. The coffees came in 5 mins but my coffee cup was stained. I sent it back and asked for fresh coffee in a fresh cup. By the time I got some caffeine in my system, my friend had already finished her coffee. No longer than I had started the waiter slammed the check book in front of us. We tendered exact change...to the rupee and walked off.

Places like these would get a thumbs down from me. I am never going back there again.
