We all must have read about the story of the hare and the tortoise. At the end of the story, everyone told me that the moral of the story is, "slow and steady wins the race". I never got that why slow and steady wins the race. If someone is fast and steady s/he will be more likely to win the race. So I changed the moral as per my convenience to slow but steady wins the race. At a certain point, this moral also doesn't fit with my logics. So I thought steady wins the race. Now the question was if someone is running with constant acceleration, then what. So deep thinking about the story revealed me that the story was not about the race and winning but was about something else. I came to many prospectives of the story by analyzing it differently. Here I highlight the few:
Perspective of hare
Don't be overconfident at any time. If you become overconfident then you might be stepping towards defeat. Till the time war is on you should have all the weapons ready to fight because the enemy can attack you anytime.
Perspective of tortoise
Though tortoise might have known that he cannot win the race if the opponent is a hare. But he accepted the challenge of the race because he did not want to be a laughing stock. He had to save his dignity. So he thought it is better to get defeated in the race than getting mocked by a hare.
At last, I would like to say that there can be many more interpretations of this story and if you have any in your mind please let me know.
