Now a days it has become common phenomena people or public facing theft of their vehicles which they park at public places. Such theft generally occur at Cinema Theaters, roads, shopping malls, rly station, bus stand, weekend fairs, restaurants etc. some times theft occurs due to the negligence of the person also. He will forget to lock the vehicle and it will become easy for a thief to commit theft. After noticing the missing of their vehicle, the aggrieved person approaches the nearest police station to lodge the complaint about missing of the vehicle. Police will not register the case immediately and they will ask him to search nearby places and come after a week or ten days if he did not find his vehicle. Then also police will not register the complaint and shout at the person for not locking the vehicle properly.


in case of such incident the aggrieved person must lodge written complaint with the police and obtain proper acknowledgement. Some times police make General Diary entryinstead of registering FIR. If the police fails to take cognizance to your complaint eith GD entry or FIR, you can send the same letter by Regd Post Ack Due and keep the Acknowledgement card as record. In spite of sending the notice by RPAD also if the police fails to register the FIR you can file private Complaint before the concerned Magistrate Court U/S 200 CRPC and seek directions to the police to register the case. When once the court issues order police is bound to register FIR.


Fir or GD entry is must for claiming insurance amount to the vehicle if the vehicle is having valid Insurance Policy.
