This is a book on experiences of the author in his 50 years of public life - He started as a temporary clerk in government offices, in Madras public service commission, at Madras(present Chennai, in Tamil Nadu)(India), then moved as a teacher in a village primary school fr Harijans( Gandhi gave such name to treat all poor as god's children, none is away from God(Adivasis - hill tribes) at vettur in then chengalpat district in 1960s). as he was selected by Harijan welfare department) after h passed out with a matriculation of Banaras Hindu university of Varanasi(Kasi) of Uttar pradesh). He worked with a Harijan Headmaster - Muniswamy of Cheyyur of Cheyyur taluka of Chengalput district then. It was a school with a single teacher fr 1 to 5 classes. teaching all subjects as pr the syllabus of Tamilnadu government. as some social welfare measure under Kamaraj Nadar government, Nadar was from Virudhunagar district, H also studied only up to 4th class in Virudhunagar area but he could became a CM as he was a social worker turned congress party political worker. He was out and out an honest man . Non could question his integrity in those times. He lived and died an honest man. The author of this book under review was an honest man with complete integrity, as in those days'integrity' is a prized possession fr any one. None respected wealth as much s is today. Honesty was the top most wealth of all fr any. In his 52 Essays, the author meets a lot f people in public life. He sees there in these essays how integrity was the last thing as if integrity is lost in the black hole in the Sun spots. People dishonest would not like to rad the book as the author clearly reveals how dishonesty killed 'Honesty' and'integrity' in man in later part of 20th century and in the 21st century most people are dishonest, most politicians today cannot b compared to Kamaraj Nadar and Mahatma Gandhi . It is treat to read by by man of man of integrity. so far only 15 copies are sold by Amazon.india or the book publishers . Notion books of Chennai. the book publishers too from him some Rs.25000 to publish and never did any preliminary work of editing or marketing. It seems. Else it could have got a market as in th world a lot of good and integrated people still are there is my view as a reviewer.
