Skoda makes some very good cars but their Indian network simply isnt up to scratch. I own a Skoda Laura L&K Automatic. The car is good, comfortable and fun to drive but requires servicing quite often. The dealers' service-people are all thugs insisting on replacing parts at the drop of a hat. The head office at Aurangabad isnt much helpful either. Once I had a problem with the automatic transmission box and it took Skoda 3 weeks to fix the problem. The dealer was clueless and so was Skoda's service in-charge based out of Aurangabad. In the end they replaced the gear-box after importing a new one from Europe. Recently the motor of the AC blower got "burnt" and needs to be replaced for Rs. 16,000. I have owned around 8 cars in my life so far and have never faced a problem like this.
