Sometimes tragedy strikes us when we least expect it and it leaves us shattered.
It puts us in a dark place where there is no escape or hope. We are bound by high walls made of agony and grief. And it is in times like these that we choose to hide in the dark rather than find our way out. We choose to hide in the dark because we feel safe and secure.
We are scared to accept the truth because it is painful.
We are scared to accept the truth because it is the TRUTH!
We often live in a world of illusions and fantasies that when we have to finally face the reality it hits us hard.
Sometimes people close to us leave. They go so far away that we will never be able to see them again. Some of us are strong. We are able to accept the truth and move on. Some of us are not and it takes us a long time to accept it. We mostly choose not to move on. We choose to cling on to our past and never let go because we are afraid of moving on.
We are afraid to start over.
We are afraid to have faith.
We are afraid of falling in love.
We are afraid of getting our heart broken again.
We are afraid of letting someone in because we feel that they too will eventually leave!
We put up walls to protect our heart.
It is in these times that we need to remember,
Life goes on.
Whether you choose to move on and take a chance in the unknown.
Or stay behind, locked in the past, thinking of what could have been.
We need to learn to live with the memories of the people who made our life worth living. We need to be strong and take a chance in the unknown for them. We need to be happy for having them in our lives and cherish those memories forever. We have to believe that even if they are not physically present around us, they will always live in our memories.
Today, we might be uncertain of how we will be able to live without them, but the future definitely has something in store for us.
People say time heals all wounds. Time does not heal anything. It only teaches us to live with the pain.
The tragedies are a part of our lives. Whether we accept them or not, they will always be a part of our lives. All we can do to make the pain go away is learn to accept it and live with it.
Moments spent with someone only last for a few minutes, but the memories they leave behind last a lifetime!
So cherish them:)
