India off spinnerHarbhajan Singh has said he has been really lucky to have played alongside Anil Kumble for such a lengthy period of time.

Harbhajan and Kumble have together played in 53 Test matches, and have picked up a total of 498 wickets between them – that’s close to 60% of the wickets taken by the Indian team in those Test matches.

Harbhajan, who looks at Kumble as his mentor, recently told a national daily that he enjoyed bowling in tandem with Kumble. He said, " I've been very lucky to have played alongside such a great spinner [Kumble] and have always enjoyed bowling with him. It's nice having quality at the other end."

He added that working as a pair helped them, and the team. He said, “Over this time and the time I've played with him, sometimes he takes wickets, sometimes I do. We've been there for each other, backed each other up.

"You have to bowl well in pairs to create pressure." read more on
