I took up a Airtel landline/broadband connection in May'10 at Kolkata and request for a disconnection on 14th April'12 as I was moving out of Kolkata.
On 14th April I called up the call center and requested for a disconnection as I was moving out of Kolkata.
On 19th April I got a call from Airtel representative suggesting to transfer the number to some friend or relative. Since I was not wiling to transfer I again request to disconnect the number.
As I did not get any revert till 2nd May, I again called up the call center and asked about the status. The call center representative said the number is still active, I again requested then to discontinue the number. I was told that the number will get disconnected soon.
Again I called on 5th May to enquire but still the number was active.
Since then I have call on 9th May, around 13th-14th May and then again on 23rd May but still no action has been taken against my request.
I never expected such below standard service from a reputed company like Airtel.
The kind of mental harassment and trauma I have gone through in last 2 month I and thinking of going to a consumer forum and log a complaint against Airtel and ask for a huge compensation/damage.
Request you to kindly intervene and help me in closing the issue.
