Latha Bhagwan, the 61-year-old grandmother took athletes by surprise by winning the 3 km race at Baramati marathon.

A farm labourer by profession, Lata participated in the marathon along with 9500 other people. The granny won in the senior citizen’s category and walked away with a cash prize of Rs 5000 along with a certificate.

Lata clad in a traditional Maharashtrian nauvari saree, stunned other participants when she ran bare feet in the marathon.
