I don’t want to see it….the unnecessary advertisements, the horrible news , rapes ,crimes , scandals, I just don’t want to see it………….!!

Ever thought of it?? The government gives us a long list of Fundamental rights, in the wasted 4th standard; some cornered chapter did tell us in the young age that these rights are important. They give you security and let you exercise your Rights. But the question is why dint they permit me to reject??

The right to reject???

With every nice breezy morning, half of the news paper including the cover page makes me feel dejected. Information is good, and its necessary at times…but why would I want to know how brutally was somebody killed? Or why Dolly Bindra was asked to get back in Big Boss?? WTF..!!Why can’t I read that ISRO is on with some new project, sending a manned mission pretty soon on moon?? Or some remote entrepreneur is changing the lives of billions in some backward state?

Yesterday I came across an incident while at my friend’s house. His 7 years Old kid was learning to read newspaper as Good Samaritan. The kid was reading load and going through photograph of a family which committed suicide together right on the Cover page. His sudden question “why are they hanging dad? Sent shivers to my friend. Although he changed the topic and showed him other things, I could see his confusion. How can you explain suicide due to economical restraint to a child??? Can we have a right where in we can refuse to see things this way???

I remember my teachers telling me to read the newspaper everyday. May be they knew channels and newspapers were pretty good back then. Today would a teacher recommend a child to read it??? The answer might find negative as well as positive takers but we here have a point…..

A couple of day’s back I was reading a book called “As I see it”. Written by Indias first Female Super Cop and IPS officer Kiran Bedi, she discusses a very important concept of Right to Reject in Elections rather than Selection. Can we refuse to select when we don’t like a leader or an option around us? Does that send a strong message??? May be yes. It would at least tell the parties to send non corrupt and clean politicians on the ground.

I am expecting something more. I want a Right to reject button in my life, installed directly by the almighty, giving me a special prerogative.

I do want to reject ………often……….
