Its a dangerous world! Thefts, assaults, murders and rapes.. that makes headlines!! so, the question arises - should one learn a form of self-defense?

Three major reasons to learn a form of self-defense:

  1. The best person you can trust is yourself. Learning a form of self-defense makes you self-dependent, you do not have to rely on anyone to come your rescue. You alone can handle it. You are your own superman or wonderwoman.

  2. Boosts your self-confidence and self-esteem. You know a form of self-defense! well, thats something to be proud of! you know you can protect yourself. Self-dependence does boost your self-confidence and self-pride.

  3. A good alternative to gym. If you're bored of the cardio and weight-training workouts in the gym or maybe looking for a new routine, a change, opt for self-defense. You stay fit and you learn something. Double bingo!

I guess these three reasons are strong enough to make you learn self-defense.

Added advantage, if you're good at the form of self-defense, maybe you can rescue someone, you can be someones superman! local superhero ;)

Well, when one doesn't know self-defense, common sense also helps. When needed even a pen or your fingers can work as a weapon of self-defense just poke them in the eyes of the assaulter. Common sense and certain precautionary measures can help you stay safe.

  1. Do not travel alone when drunk. Ask someone to drop you.

  2. Always note the vehicle number and notify anyone you trust in a way that the driver is aware somebody knows.

  3. If you're in a crowded place just yell as loudly as you can and the person will feel embarrassed and also scared! too many people!

  4. our parents have been saying this since childhood do not talk to strangers. do not accept anything from a stranger.

  5. carry a pepper spray or the long umbrella or any item which you think can be used for self defense.

To each his own. learning a form of self-defense or pepper spray for self-defense.Staying safe is more important. Stay alert to stay safe. Do not panic, let your reflexes guide you. Thats what matters.
