India’s neighboring country, Nepal is although a 25 times smaller than India, and its population of about 25 million, less than entire population of Bombay city, you might be knowing many thing about Nepal, but just trying to share some of the strange facts about Nepal….
1) Nepal is a landlocked country, and one of the members of SAARC country. The first summit conference of SAARC was held in capital of Nepal, Kathmandu and headquarter of SAARC is also in Kathmandu
2) Out of 14 highest peaks situated in world, 8peaks are situated in Nepal, among them mount Everest is highest peak where sir Edmond Hilary and tensing Norge Sherpa was the first one to climb mount Everest,it is also called Sagarmatha.
3) Nepal, it is the birth place of Siddhartha Gautam Buddha who is founder of Buddhism, Nepal has major population of people following Hinduism. But like India despite having 80% of total population following Hinduism, it was declared as secular country in 2007, which means Nepalis no more officially Hindu country…
4) Though Nepal is landlocked country, it is the second richest country in water resources, it is richest after Brazil.
5) Nepal is an only country which has not been dominated or ruled by any foreign force. After British captured all India territory,it had a fight against Nepal force too. At that time Nepal was just united to a single kingdom. Though Nepal was a monarchy country on that time, but it’s all administrative were handled by Prime Minister Bhimsen Thapa for the continuous31 years. Though Nepal lost its brave commanders on that area, and even Nepal lost some of its territory, British army got defeated, and finally a deal was signed by east India Company and Nepal government ending the war between two countries. This resulted Nepal in losing some of the important territories like Darjeeling and others...
6) In last 50 years political history in Nepal, it has a very few incident where any people has continuously ruled as prime minister for more than 3 years, but in ancient Nepal history of last 300 years,there is two occasion where two different people were ruling the country as prime minister for 31 years..
7) Its flag in triangle shape is with two triangle with Sun and Moon which is itself a unique flag in the world.
8) It is said that capital city of Nepal, Kathmandu is also called as the city of Temples. Normally people say that there are larger numbers of idols than number of people living in Kathmandu and total numbers of small and larger temples in Kathmandu valley are greater than buildings inside on Kathmandu valley...
9) Aryan and mongoloids are two ethnical people that live in Nepal. Aryan people completely look like indo-Aryan and they have the same culture that Indian people have. Mongoloid people look like the east Indian people whose ancestors were originally from Mongolia and Burma.
10) Beside agriculture as main occupation, many Nepali have worked as British and Indian army. So nepali people are known for the honesty and bravery
11) Nepal has only road and air transport system available, and there are no train facilities in Nepal. Many of the major highways are building by the Indian, Chinese and Japanese government.
