"Gather around kids, yes, in a circle around me. I have got for you a tale, a tale of
a little boy just like you. A cheerful lad, a sweet little boy as sweet as candy and just as
nice. So here goes. Now it was a wonderful day, yes certainly it was and
I was standing at the bus stand near Mr. Buns Bakery and just then I heard a voice so I
turned to see, it was an old women, an old women asking a neatly dressed young man
to help her cross the road."

"My child, my child please help me

I am blind, yes I cannot see

Hold my hand, take me across

For I will be grateful and pray for thee."

"Do away with you, you filthy hag. You ruined my morning with your hideous face and

audacious plea. Am I to blame if you are blind? Find your way on your own for what

do you stand to risk, your life? Is it really worth much?

Get out of my sight."

"Aah, what a rude fellow", thought I. I was about to go and help her you know but she
accosted another gentleman you see."

"My child, my child please help me

I am blind, yes I cannot see

Hold my hand, take me across

For I will be grateful and pray for thee."

"Aah, This city is filled with mendicants. How I condemn the authorities for not taking

appropriate measures in dealing with this. I will surely help you Madam, I will

write to the mayor about your situation."

"But I am not a beggar, just an old women with scanty means. And all I need is for someone

to help me cross the road and nothing more."

"Yes, yes but I must first help the beggars and then I can help old women with

scanty means. But I must hurry now for today I am addressing the plight of street dogs.

Helping street dogs is the only way to go if we dare to call ourselves humans and our

society civil."

"What a joker thought I and stood there laughing, while a little boy approached the old women."

"I will help you cross mam, here hold my hand."

"Thank you my child, May God bless you."

"And he helped her cross, the little boy.Charming young fellow, a sweet little boy.
The lad was happy that he had done such a wonderful deed. He felt warm inside I suppose.
A smile had perched on his lips which he was confident will last whole day if not more.
Selfless deeds always have such effect on us."

"He crossed the road again and reached the bakery and asked for bread."

"White or brown?" asked Mr. Buns. "Brown." replied the boy.

"That will be 2 shillings." said Mr. Buns.
And the boy fished for the money in his pocket but could not find it.
He searched and searched and searched some more, but there was no money.
He turned his pockets inside out but still no money. He could not understand.
Then all of a sudden I could see in his eyes that his mind had caught a surmise but
his heart dropped it before a blink of his eye.

"And that is the end of this little tale. Do not strain your faculties to find
a moral to it cause some stories and most men have none."
