My mother had approached Dr Prakash Kini of cradle last month for a Hysterectomy.He convinced her that there was no malignancy, despite her reports stating otherwise, also she had given him a letter from another senior doctor from Columbia Asia stating she needed radical hysterectomy, Dr Kini convinced my mother that she only required pelvic floor repair , and uterus removal and reinstated the fact that she there was no malignancy, however once the vaginal hysterectomy was done, the uterus was sent for biopsy, upon which cancer of the endometrium was confirmed, there after she was sent to Dr Uday Kumar Maiyya of Bangalore hospital who asked her to undergo intra vaginal brachy therapy after consulting with the best doctors at Tata Memorial, Bangalore institute of Oncology and Kidwai, My mother has been given two choices, either undergo twenty five sittings of external radiation or cutting open her abdomen for removal of her ovaries, all this could have been avoided if the right course of treatment was given to her in the first place. But what is most upsetting is his cocky attitude and insensitive remarks. He was always rude and unapproachable, notwithstanding the fact that he is highly expensive and charges consultation fees even for a followup. People beware of Doctors like Prakash Kini He has made life hell for our family.
