Tamron 70-300 DI LD Macro[F4:5.6] (1:2) is a good performer with economical price. It has inbuilt auto-focus motor having good focus speed but slight noisy. It can work with both type of DSLR bodies(i.e with auto-focus motors like D90, D7000 etc and motor-less bodies like D3000, D3100, D5000, D5100 etc).

It is sharp at F9 to F11 and results are good around 250 mm focal length. Since it is not a dedicated macro lens results are not excellent but very good when is used in macro mode(switching the button between 180 mm to 300 mm Focal Length.

Telephoto performance of the lens is satisfactory and very good in good lighting conditions. Because it is not a OS(Optical Image Stabilization) we need a tripod or mono-pod to avoid the blur caused by hand sake at higher focal length(200 to 300 mm) and lower shutter speeds(1/300sec to 1/500 secs).
