The Hero RNT is the first hybrid diesel scooter in the country exhibited by Hero Motocorp at the Auto Expo 2014.

Although not so stylish but this vehicle definitely stands out for its features. This diesel scooter concept comes equipped with a six-speed constant mesh transmission 150cc liquid-cooled turbocharged engine. It possesses a peak power of 13.5 bhp and a torque of 35Nm. The 1 kW motor installed on the front wheel makes the RNT a two-wheel drive. The stopping power comes from disk brakes, with a 300mm rotor and multi piston caliper up front and a 220mm rotor with single piston caliper at the rear. For suspension, there are 37mm telescopic forks and a swing arm at rear with adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers.

The hybrid power of the scooter is driven by a 16-cell Li-ion, 500CCA, 12 amp, dry cell technology battery. The top speed is 70 kmph which might be a little low. The hybrid accelerates from 0 to 60 kmph in just 5 seconds and weighs 136 kg. Its fuel tank has a capacity of 6 liters. The mileage of the vehicle hasn't been revealed yet but given that its a hybrid diesel engine, we can easily assume that it may be more than 100 kmpl.
