The world has moved on from retail shopping to e-commerce. That voice inside you that used to say "I can't buy a shoe by just looking at its picture" is now inaudible.
Reviews do wonders. They clear dilemmas that you may have. Companies promise a lot. You don't really believe spraying a deodorant will make angels fall from heaven do you? So reviews have to be considered to see the real side of products, from customers who have some experience with the company.
But there is something you need to be careful about when you see a company's ratings online before making decisions. A 1 star rating is actually a 2.5 star & a 3 star rating is actually a 4 star (5 star rating just being 5 ofcourse).
How ?
Well the fact of the matter is that satisfied customers rarely take the pains to review products they are happy with. On the other hand, you will always have the angry and dissatisfied customers coming online to review the product with 1 or 2 stars. So a series of "xyz is a fraud" doesn't really mean all xyz does is fraud. Its just that the happy ones rarely step up to defend those products.
Be smart while you are here and make smart choices. I wish you all happy shopping :-)
