The new phenomenon of third umpire referral in test cricket has added new dimension to cricket. The fair play of the game has been enhanced. Hitherto on field umpires used to pass on the benefit of doubt to the batsmen, now it is even stevens with refferals.

Gentlemen's game of cricket is turning out to be more and more atrocious, with excessive appealing, batsmen showing dissent, sledging etc. Even Dravid has shown dissent on third umpires decision, obviously Test cricket being is only domain, stakes are high for his career.

The case of Badrinath not being considered for selection despite a ripe old age of 28 is another case in point. The competition to get into Indian team is getting tougher, even without 2 star players in Dhoni and Yuvraj being out of the team. In terms of rotation policy, the selectors should ensure that in matches against Bangladesh only 3 to 4 players should be from the top bracker and balance should be from the fringe. Just imagine a players career being extinguished for want of chance.
