Monsoon is an amazing season for exploring nature and treks are one of the ways you can do that. There are many good options for trekking near Mumbai. We selected our trekking destinations mostly based on the difficulty level, distance, travelling. As college students it was also important that we arrange everything in minimum budget. It is also very important that you check the weather few days prior. We had to cancel a trek because it was raining heavily and the local trains were not running, so just plan everything nicely if you don't want your plan to be cancelled.

We decided to go to visapur because the pictures we saw on internet were really good. We planned everything and finally were ready for our trek.

Travelling - You need to board an express train to Pune and get down at Lonavala station if you are coming here from Mumbai. From Lonavala, you need to board a local train to drop you at Malavli Station. Once you get down, start walking in the direction of Patan Village.

After probably walking for an hour you will reach a rocky terrain, this is from where your actual adventure starts. there are streams of water flowing through this rocky terrain which makes this trek memorable. When we reached the fort it was very windy, it was even difficult for us to stand properly. After sitting there for a while we started our return journey. After reaching the bottom you can find some local home cooked food or some local restaurant and eat there. If you are ahead of your schedule try exploring a little more but try to be on schedule so you don't miss your train. After coming back home you might get cold or your legs might ache but that totally fine. Just try to enjoy as much as you can.
