I think it is rightly said, thought and ideas can seep in from anywhere. No matter you are sitting in a public transport or in your limousine. It hardly matter whether you are reading a heavy stuff or watching a comedy movie, your thought process always continues.
Having said this, you will ask why I am being so thoughtful today as I don’t seem so. Actually my thoughts arised just now, I was visiting my orkut page (u can imagine how impact my thoughts would be,if taken from this site but anyways bear with me). One of my dear friends Nikhil has mentioned his tag line as:
“NIK: Finally Employed”.
Well no offences to my dear friend’s tag at all. But I looked this tag a second time and was allured by two things ‘NIK’ and “Finally Employed”. Friends I am going to get a bit boring from here, but this is what I am writing for.
As I broke this code into parts (programming fundamentals u know –break it in parts) I found NIK quite resembling to a High School Student of Harvard or Yale. Is it the Indianisation of Americanism? I should have thought of “Bhagat Singh” before coining this two terms who fervently laid his entire life speaking “ Down with Imperialism”. Around 103,000 thousand Indian Student went for study in US in 2009 alone. If I include UK, Australia and other foreign nations it is 2.63 lakhs (figures from TOI). I guess they do have names like Ram, Shyam, Sitaram, Radheshyam, Ravi , karan or may be ‘naam to suna hi hoga’ “Rahul”. Sorry I didn’t mention Sita, Gita, Sapna, Sheela , Sonal or Sonali. But my point is do they change their name amidst those fellows with name of Mac, Geo, Nik, Sick and what not. I assume NO.Is this whacky-shacky name makes you look more cool, dude or something. Is this is an attempt to emulate them to be in the genre of deserving ones or the educated ones? Then read this : India produced 464,743 engineering graduates in 2004-05(AICTE) compared to US-70,000 and entire Europe-100,000. India currently has 113 Universities and 2088 Colleges , so I don’t think that might be the reason to go for a catchy name. Whatever the reason might be, understand that we carry a rich legacy of purest of traditions, vivid culture that gives us enough to learn the diversity and undoubtedly the value system that India has inherited. It is this value system that is instilled in the hearts of youth that has keep India united no matter what might have come.
Another point of attraction or rather I would say point of concern was “Finally Employed”. Getting an employment in India does attract lots of well wishers. Why not when more than 30 million registered youth is unemployed(Data: the tribune) getting an employment does deserves kudos and appreciation.
I know we have limited resources and jobs but I wonder is the potential and will power also limited?
You would say why I am talking in unreal terms? Wait a min, I will be talking in statistics. The need here for the youth is not to look for the conventional jobs which for sure are limited but to generate new jobs.
There lies unlimited untapped opportunities lying in India which went unnoticed when all of us will look for the conventional jobs. Yes, it does take a torrent of courage if you want to stand out of the herd. India Today is not poised to grab outsourced jobs, it has moved ahead to generate jobs. Post liberalization there has been a wave created among the Indian Businessmen to start and explore new ventures. India was second among all nations in Total Entrepreneurship Activity as per the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Report of 2002. TATA-NEN hottest startups received more than one lakh entries for its competition. The Economic Times for best Startup has fetched million new ideas. The averaged age for the Entrepreneurs starting their venture , if calculated of the last five years, it comes out to 25-29 years of age. I think this is what the youth of India is poised to do. Not only IT, Telecom and Services but there lies immense potential in other unexplored sectors like Healthcare, retail, agri business , waste management and billions of other ideas are in the mind of the current youth. The need is to get focused and channelize your thoughts into ideas , to plans and to big business.
No matter how small you start your venture but the satisfaction would be unfathomable.
This will be the time you will cherish and celebrate forever. And then you don’t need to say Employed. You can proudly say I have removed unemployment of some people.
This is what you and me are Poised to do.
