You have to compare with other ac to know the true quality. My Voltas AC Indoor Unit is very noisy. Worst service. Illiterate technicians. I fully agree with your observations. I purchased a Voltas AC. While installation I notice the casual way in installing. They did not have any proper tool, vacuum pump and guages. Your BTU calculation is not wrong if your room is not hit by direct sunrays, and you have a floor above the room. Check the temperature of the air coming out from the indoor unit ( Grill temperature0. For a 1.5 ton ac it should be at 9 degree celsius. Your ac may not be delivering the desired temper read more...

Do not purchase a Voltas AC. Service is horrible. All illiterate techncians for a Tata brand. Custom made reply for all your complaints from their call centre/support sites
