rajfidel: Thanks for taking your time in posting this comment. My area does have edge, the software shows EDGE indicator. Things have become *slightly* better. From 11pm I get about 14KBps avg but before that time the speed remains at 5-8KBps avg.I'm not sure what more I can do. I'm getting tired ye read more...

@AN10: No, there's nothing like that with my laptop, strange that you're facing that.
@gambit I still havent figured out how to configure the media buttons to work with VLC, though they work fine with Winamp @NHCE The 8800m is not available in India.
Faiz: Yes, I'm looking at BSNL EVDO service. Heard good reviews about it. I'll have to go and check out at the BSNL exchange. I'm more or less going to dump Airtel data card.Thanks for bringing this to my notice :)

^^ Thanks :) It does catch a bit of dust, but it's a lot better than Alpine White! It took 12 days for delivery, and nope No problems with Courier people!

Thanks for your comment :) XP and Linux can and will co-exist--I've been doing it for a while now. You have nothing to worry about.
