I specially appreciate this movie for portraying people as real as it gets. I learn from this movie is The Pianist Sacrifice and Identity. The ability one person to take away others human rights and the notion of sacrificing.
What did you learn about the Gestapo?
Gestapo was the political police of Nazi Germany. The Gestapo operated without civil restraints. Their methods of dealing with anyone in protective custody, Gestapo had a history of power struggles by those who wanted to control it and the power.
What do you think happened to the main character’s family, when they were separated from Wlad?
The main character Szpilmans have a large and comfortable flat in Warsaw which Wladyslaw shares with his mother and father, his sisters, and his brother. Wladyslaws naivete is shattered when a German bomb rips. During the early stages of the Nazi occupation he is a respected artist. But after German grip tightens upon Poland, Wladyslaw and his family are selected for deportation to a Nazi concentration camp. afterwords he abandoned home to another home.

The Jews wore white patches with the Star of David on their sleeves. Nazis made them wear for identify Jewish. Jews were restricted from certain areas because of their religion (parks, restaurants, public benches, etc.)

Wladyslaw Szpilman was a Jewish pianist living in Warsaw, Poland during World War II. He support his family, he worked as a pianist at a Café called Café Nowaczesna. at the time of deporting soldier catch him. and transfer to attic to hide in at 223 Niepoldleglosci, Warsaw for Captain Wilm Hosenfeld. He gives excuses for playing piano like His fingers were stiff and covered with dirt. He was rusty from lack of practice. His nails were uncut.
