The film is about an Eastern European man who is stuck in New York’’s John F. Kennedy Airport terminal. The airport terminal is a vast and complex set built in disused hangar, Site 9, 2825 East Avenue P in Palmdale, California, 80 miles north of Los Angeles, where nearly 40 national chains volunteered to build replicas of their outlets, to take advantage of screen exposure in a Steven Spielberg movie.
