I have been watching webseries from past few days or probably from a month ago. By looking at the reviews from Google, MouthShut.com and IMDB ratings, I thought of watching the webseries "13 Reasons Why". I will try to keep this review spoiler-free so that you can enjoy this series to the fullest.
The story starts with a high school girl named Hannah Baker committing suicide and as the name of the series mentioned, she records the tapes mentioning the 13 reasons for committing suicide ( And ofcourse 13 people were mentioned in the tapes who were somehow responsible for her suicide) . She explains the different situations that caused her pain, both physically and mentally in those tapes. She explains how she was bullied in the school by her classmates and how people became friends with her and later broke friendship with her. She also explains of her high school crushes, relationships and how people betrayed her, when she needed them the most. She also explains some of her bitter experiences like how she witnessed a rape of her friend, how she also became a victim of rape and so on.
She also explains how good her parents treated and supported her and the tapes also mentioned about her friend Clay Jensen who was good to her and worked with her after schools.
The series brings some of the important things to highlight like Bullying in schools and Suicides. It puts a light on the picture of how some people are bullied for their physical attributes or appearance, either in schools or the place they work. These bullies may be the reason for mental depression and suicides. This webseries explains the importance of mental health and how important it is to show concern to people around you.
Speaking about the acting performance, each actor has shown the professionalism in acting. It felt as if they are doing this for real and not fake. Each actor was just perfect in their dialogues, timings and so on. This webseries is comprised of totally 4 seasons and each episode is around 1 hour or less. This webseries is available on the popular streaming platform "Netflix". So watching this webseries may be the reason to chill in this quarantine. I hope you like this review.
Thank you. Stay home and stay safe.
