16 Blocks is a good film, make no mistake about that. The film will make to sit at the edge of your seat/sofa for the 2 hours and at the end of the movie, you will be happy.
But if you ask yourself, "Did I watch something new?" The answer will be a resounding "no". The plot is a simple hollywood Good Cop Vs Bad Cop routine. Bruce Willis is the so called Good Cop who is at the end of his rope. His drinking is out of control, his family life is a mess and his career is down in the dumps.
So what does he do? He fights the Bad Guys with a vengeance and keeps a’innocent’ prisoner alive by shooting at everything that moves! If you are surprised by this plot, you clearly have not been watching Hollywood movies for the past decade:)
BUT the performance of Bruce Willis is truly great and the movie is shot exceedingly well. It is a must watch for the Action fans!
