Tricks + Tricks = ?

Two Weeks Notice was released in 2002 by Warner Films. I rented it a few nights ago.

The Director and Writer was Marc Lawrence.

It takes about 1 hour and 40 minute to see it.

In Canada it is rated PG 13.

THE STARS

Hugh Grant plays George Wade.

Sandra Bullock plays Lucy Kelson.

Alicia Will plays June Carter.

THE PLOT

BACKGROUND

Two Weeks Notice is about Lucy Kelson who is a young Lawyer. Her Parents were both Lawyers and they showed how to protest against the thing she doesn’t believe in.

Her Parents are so liberal they join a protest against the tearing down the old Historic Buildings in New York City.

Lucy protested things and tried to use the law to help her causes. She wasn’t always successful. She and two of her Friends were protesting the demolition of an old Movie Theatre. Lucy had to call her Parents to bail them out of Jail. The Theatre was torn down anyway.

THE PLOT

When Lucy heard that the Community Centre in the neighbourhood where she grew up was in danger of being torn down.

The Developers want to bring them down to develop new buildings. George Wade, was one of the Developers!

George Walsh was a very wealthy man and he worked for his family’s Company. He annoyed his Brother continually.

George was always a playboy and he always hired beautiful Women, (they all attended small Law Schools), to be the Corporate Lawyers for the Company.

George usually got involved with them. The Lawyers aren’t to bright and keep making mistakes, and George’s Brother had to fire them.

George’s Brother was fed up and wanted George to hire an intelligent Lawyer, (from Yale or Harvard), who knew what they were doing.

George started to interview new lawyers. Lucy wanted to talk him about the Community Centre. George thought that she wanted an interview and he began to ask her questions.

He’d save the Community Centre if she came to work for him. She would be able to make decisions about which charities the company donated money too. After thinking about it, Lucy decided to take the job.

George started to depend on Lucy to help him make decisions for a almost thing. She had to help him pick out Cloths, a Mattress and even Stationery.

He would call her in the middle of the night because he wanted to chat. The straw that broke the Camel’s back was when George phoned her during the Ceremony at her Friends Wedding. Lucy was just walking down the Aisle. She left the Wedding and went to meet George. When Lucy found out why he had phone her she was one angry Lady! That was the last straw for her and she gave him her two-week notice.

George didn’t want Lucy to quit and he tried to stop her. Finally George realized she was determine to leave. Once again he made here a deal that if she would find her replacement and train the she could leave. During the last two week of work Lucy and George and Lucy spent a lot of time together.

Guess who pops up to save Lucy? One day June Carter, (who had just graduated from Harvard Law School), arrived at the Office with no appointment. She hoped that someone would interview her but if no one was available she would leave her resume. Lucy saw her and they had just begun to talk when George walked into her Office.

Lucy told George why June was there and he hired her. Lucy didn’t feel that she would be the right person for the job and she wasn’t going to do more that take the regime.

June started to flirt with him and he enjoyed every second of her devotion. June was just like the other Women he hired before, (the only difference was that she had gone to Harvard).

Lucy wasn’t happy about June being hired and his Brother wasn’t either.

There was just one little problem. Every time June flirting with George she was jealous.

Did Lucy go ahead with her plans to quit? Did anything happen between George and June? George and Lucy?

MY CONCLUSION

Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock must be the best Actors in the World. The moment they met they didn’t like one another and both have said they will never make another film together. You wouldn’t know this from watching the movie because the chemistry between them looked real.

The plot went from one scene to another with out a glitch. The scenes were filmed in Offices and the Streets of a big City. There was no blurring but there was nothing exceptional.

The music, (was mostly from the 1970’s), and they did go very went well with what was going on in the film.

I enjoyed this romantic comedy very much and I hope you will rent it soon.
