After a long time I had seen a good film by NAGESH a film maker from Hyderabad. Three guys, a woman and a prison... The film is was shot in a jail where 3 convicts are waiting for their judgement.Best freind Jaggu (Jackie Shroff) and Nagya (Nagesh Kukunoor) and soft spoken Ishaan(Naseerudding Shah). What is common between three?? All are facing sentance to kill women. Jaggu killing wife for adultry, Nagya killing his wife over an arguement and Ishaan kills a bank clerk by accident. Then enters into their life Chandrika (Juhi Chawla), a documentary film-maker. After a quick-fix deal with Mohan(Gulshan Grover) who happens to be the Jailor, Chandrika sets out to make a documentry on there prisoners who are waiting for the final day to come, she manages to win their trust and make them confess to her their true stories. What happens in the end is the suspense to watch.
Naseer should be given A+ for his performance, Nagesh I feel should concentrate in direction as he can give far far superior films than this one. Jackie with his poetries did a good job as an actor. Juhi Chawla has a lesser role than all the three. Gulshan had given a good performance.. This slickly paced two-hour flick has it all - emotions, drama and polished performance from all the actors. The best part of it is no songs in the movie.
I will give 3 Deewarein an A+ and it deserves the tag SUPER HIT. I wish Nagesh the best of luck for his coming movies. Ramu watch out for Nagesh another maker from Hyderabad to make it big in Bollywood.
