In Pune there are only two BPOS that offer salaries of 2.5 Upwards, i.e you end up getting Rs, 20, 000 + in hand.
Majority crowd is teeny boppers, and mature people do not fit in, moreover people, avoid working for BPOs as the odd hours take a toll on your heath, if you are a student etc its okay as there are no responsibilities, at 3 there is tremendous work pressure if you are in the retention team, thats where they need people mostly.
The work ex does not count in other industries, except if you plan to be a receptionist, or join as cabin crew I recently saw an airline specifically ask for call centre experience, as one of the qualifiers for cabin crew, my advice work in a traditional profile like sales etc and grow manyfold than work in BPOS .
People do grow in BPOs dont get me wrong but it is not something you would like to continue doing when you are 30 + , if at all there is not alternative please do work, however keep training yourself in various skills which are in demand in the outside world, and try to get yourself in generic skill sets in BPOs like administration, Marketing , Hr as these skills are universal and always in need.
Bpos always say be a team leader on paper for one year in your previous company and you can join as a team leader in a new one, in reality, they need more foot soldiers than team leaders, the foot soldiers that is agents keep leaving and joining, the team leaders upwards do not usually, as they have a comfort level and they do not leave easily.
