Larry Fong(cinematographer) deserves total credit for making300 seem believable. The battle scenes are exquisite to the eyes, believe me when I say this for Im a rom-com girl who only likes watching military inspired action films with little to no bloodshed.Yes, theres too much of gory moments here, but chic camerawork makes you appreciate the magic behind this kind of cinema.Gerard Butler owns the screen with his dogmatic presence while David Wenham comes second in-line.The only woman here, Lena Headey although lovely is done injustice by the camera man & her makeup artist as she is not portrayed the manner in which Spartan women ought to be.No bronzed olive skin, no curves, zero luscious locks, etc.Other than the fact that her acting is pretty commendable & her Grecian inspired clothes are done well by the costume designer, she is not thoroughly appealed by the camera person to be a Spartan lady. The director(Zack Snyder) & his team seem to have given their complete attention to the men.I havent read the cult comic, hence I cant say as to whether this movie pacifies the comparison. All I can state is that although certain scenes are dragged unconsciously by the filmmakers, 300 offers chic action, slick blood curdling situations, excellent acting & 100% satisfaction to all viewers who enjoy this genre.
