The main plot of 31 st october resolves around the violent treatment that the sikh community had to face post indira ghandhi’s assassination in 1984 by her sikh guard. the film chronicles this incident with the help of their lead character devinder and tejinder. devider(vir das) and fis wife tejinder(soha ali khan) are a regular married couple with three kids, livinig in a friendly community in delhi.
