Went to this place once earlier(2nd week Jan10), the experience was okay-ish, so thought to give it a second visit today. Mistake!
Ambience: Somewhat ok-ok. The really terrible part is that not all areas inside have A/C. This is ok for open to air sit-outs, but problematic for indoor areas. They do run desert-coolers, but it is a case of the cure being worse than the disease! Decor is average, and some of the lights in the false ceiling do not work, causing alternating dark areas on the dining table.
Service: Not really worth it. The servers seemed to have an expression of being at the place against their wishes!
(1) I have been to other places where a kebab not in theitems of the day list was cheerfully prepared and served. When asked for a Cauliflower kebab, the answer was a blunt no.
(2) Next asked for a kebab made from only tomatoes, Capsicum and onions. The answer - no. Additionally, helpful information was provided about how long it takes to make the kebabs(30 mins! he said - darn lie, in 30 mins the veggies will become crisp charcoal!)
(3) Cold Water - had to ask for chilled water twice. Then I was again helpfully provided with advise of adding ice, however no ice came. Had to gruffly ask the server to replace the glass of lukewarm water with chilled water, and got somewhat cool water.
(4) Asked for the drinks menu - soft drinks and mocktails. Menu never came. Was frustrated enough to give up on the drink, and ended up not ordering one.
(5) Buffet Menu: Some items were Ok, but overall a hotch-potch menu. There are 2 or less items of every kind(1 pasta, but no accompaniment, 1 dish of chinese - noodles - but no suitable gravy, rice and sambar, but no south-indian style veg curry to go with it.). Would have preferred to have lesser number of menu types, more items of each type.
(6) Desserts - Mousse seemed on the verge of going sour! Fresh fruits were probably fresh 12 hours ago. Salads provided was not crisp, in fact, seems to have been cut for lunch- the cucumbers were chewy, and carrots were dry!
(7) Bill time: Seemed to be very eager to hand the bill over, and usher us out.
Overall, the first impression as an ok-ish place was completely destroyed on the second visit. Strongly suggest either Kebab Factory(Good but terribly expensive) or Barbecue Nation(longer into city traffic, tasty and many variety kebabs) as an alternative.
Cheers!
