The Trojan War
Trojan War is one heck of a story which has a lot to do with this world. I can almost read it any time and still end up refreshing myself. Ulysses is my favorite character.
Of course the well known Achilles is famous for his enormous strength given by her mother Thesis when she dips him in the River on his heel at birth.By this no human can harm him on any part of the body except his heel, this is where the concept of Achilles Heel has begun.
As there was no other part where Achilles can be hit except his heel it was thought of as his Week point and so of now we call some ones week point an Achilles Heel. But there was a very less part of Ulysses covered in this Heroic Story. It was in the next sequel called The odyssey (Ulyssess nick name) where he had his travels through deadly passages of schylla and carrybdis waxing his fellow sailors and facing the consequences of the serenes song and that heavy monster Cyclops from which he had a narrow escape getting himself tied beneath the sheep and letting the way out of that deadly cave.
Trojan war has a given a lot to this world. The concept of Trojan Horse was thought earlier by the Trojans which when presented as a gift to Greek was thought as a symbol of love between the both Cities. But no one could ever imagine that it (Trojan Horse) was a deadly trap which emerges out to be a hiding place for their enemies who come out during the night times and destroy the whole city.
The story starts with all the goddesses being invited to the wedding of the beautiful Girl Thesis (Achilles Mom) .
All the goddesses were being invited except one (The Athena) for her cruelity against some goddesses. Some she decides to take revenge and thus sends a Golden Apple to the place where the Occasion was held. On the Apple was written To the Fairest . This Apple was considered the beginning of all the feuds through which The Trojan War begun.
There are a lot of interesting twists in the story and one can never stop reading if he/she happen to start it by chance. If any one hasnt read it I would strongly urge you to go through.
The Hound of Basker Ville :
I dont think I need to tell a lot about this story. We actually read this story when we were in our 7th or 8th class and luckily it happened to be our English (Non-Detailed). One of my friend told me that it was the best book he ever read and hence I started reading it. This was the only book which sent me shivers down my spine when I went reading the chapters which tells about that deadly shining Hound scking the blood of one of the BaskerVille(Hugo Basker Ville).
There must hardly be any one who doesnt know this famous Detective, and my all time favorite Inspiration, Mr Sherlock Holmes. Not to forget his most beloved and trusted assistant Dr.Watson who happens to be a lot a part of this story.
The story starts with raw scenes being discussed where there is a death of a family member of a Basker Ville who happen to possess lots of property. There is a hoax that no one must travel in the moor in the night and whoever tries to do that he would be a meal of a deadly blood scking creature (Hound). The story had thrilling suspense and it is definitely a nail-biter. My favorite character in it would be Miss stapleton. Why, dont ask me I would leave it upto you.Go read and find out.
The Moonstone:
The moonstone as you all know is a famous precious stone was found in a part of Indian temples(somnath). The story begins by theft of the stone from one of the temples where the 3 priests keep guarding the stone. There is a strong belief that whoever posses that stone there is a curse holding for them. As the story continues the stone is being given as a present to Miss Rachel Virender. Since this carries a bad curse there happen to be a lot of tragedies in her family. First the stone gets stolen again and later there is a death of a family member...
My favorite character in this book is Rosanna spearman . Rosanna has a lot to do in the story and the stone leaves a tragedy onto her when for she commits a suicide by pushing herself in the Dead Sands. There can hardly be any better character more good than she had.
The Doomsday conspiracy :
This is my favorite Sheldon book so far! I love Sheldon and science fiction so this was great. It was complete with twists and turns and everything expected from a great Sheldon book. I definitely would recommend this book!
Sheldon bravely discusses as he ham-handedly depicts an earth under threat of invasion by aliens ticked off at- -what else?--our destruction of the environment. US Navy Commander Robert Bellamy--Sheldons first male lead in many years--is assigned by NSA to locate the 11 people on a Swiss bus who saw the crash of a weather balloon
All in all Robert Bellamy has everything to be my favorite character in this novel. He
struggles till the end of the story for his love (wife) even when she has married another man after getting vexed up with his husband waiting all the time to return home and he could not make it due to his tasks given by his commanders.
The Sands of Time :
Lets get it all.
This was the last sheldon book I have finished and it happens to be this way.
SPAIN. A land of eternal passion of unceasing bloodshed. From the vengeance of a pity-less tyrant, four nuns flee from the sacred, once the safe walls of a cistercian convent. This book has every lesson to be taught to especially from TERESA who happen to be my favorite character is a none of a cistercian convent among the 4 nuns who fled.she is a believer who has been haunted by faith that mocks her with silence.
Leaving innocence but no hope behind. She had a not so beautiful face but fortunately the most beautiful voice the god has given in this world. She sacrifices everything to her sister who unlike her is very beautiful and charming with her charm she could attract any man alive. Teresa once finds a man for her sister who instead is interested in Teresa but when the time comes for their wedding bells her cunning sister steals that man from her. Such is her fate. This story gives us a lesson not to trust in luck making your own instead.
The story starts with the spanish inquisitions which has one of the bloodiest wars in
history. The hero , Jamie minor was a legend, a hero to the basque people of spain and the anathema to spanish Government fighting for the freedom of his people and Basque community from the Cruel tyranny of Spanish Government for whom Colonel Acoca stood as an Epitome.
Among the four Nuns were Lucia:The proud survivor harbouring a murderous secret and from the savage clans of wars of sicily. Graciella, the beauty still unpurged of guilt from one reckless, youthful sin...Megan, the orphan seeking perilous refuge in the arms of a defiant Basque rebel...
My second favorite character in this novel is Rubio Arzano who been promised to be having a married life with one of the nuns end up returning to his country side growing crops in his farm.
The book is enormously entertaining in every aspect .
