Review : A Beautiful Mind is based on the true life story of John Nash, a mathematician who altthough is often misunderstood, and is beset by a serious mental disorder, manages to succeed. Russell Crowe plays Nash, and he is very beliveable as John Nash. He even plays Nah when he is older, and does well in that role also. Crowe does not sem to be all that intelligent in real life, but he plays smart well.
To be honest I saw this film quite some time ago, and do not recall the rest of the actors/ actresses names but they all did a pretty good job on their roles. The actress who plays Nashs wife has some emotional scenes, and Nashs roomates and friends (the movie will explain) are played well as well. The plot is very good, and takes you places you really did not expect to go, this is a huge plus for a theater goer like me. At points I even got chills!!! You do not have to be a math nut to enjoy this movie, this is more a film about one mans extraordinary life with its extraordinary challanges.
There are very little special effects in a film like this, but the makeup artist do their job well. The sets look very authentic for the period (1950s 60s 70s America) places like Princeton University, Boston and so forth look good. I made sure this review gave nothing of the plot away, so it is short. but I hope it helps you.
