A Flying Jatt is a film with a big heart. Hardly do we come across superhero films that are funny and at the same time carry a unique message about saving the environment.
However, that’s where all its goodness ends. It is nice as a concept. But is it impressive as a movie? NOOOOOO! Remo D’Souza’s weak direction never lets his core message make noise and leave an impact; but rather lets all the over-the-top melodrama and dragged entertainment-factors do the talking!
The first half is enjoyable and is filled with humorous dialogues and visual gags. However you do get an idea of how poorly the movie has been executed, and that it will only get worse when the fun ends and the intense drama begins. And that’s exactly what happens post intermission! If the trashy editing and needless romantic angle along with forced songs weren’t enough- we have the yawn-invoking action sequences occurring time and again. Oh yes.superhero flicks are supposed to have some amazing fight sequences. But ‘A Flying Jatt’s fighting scenes with Raka, with all the possible slow-motion effects added, will only make you slap your forehead harder every time and regret your decision of wasting your time and money. Well, but it just doesn’t end there. Remember Quicksilver running at the speed of light and tampering with things and beings before they reach their destination in ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ or the latest ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’? Well, that’s how our desi superhero gets his introduction as the savior of the people while protecting them from a bunch of terrorists! And then there’s Shroff fighting with Jones the way Superman did with General Zod in ‘Man Of Steel’. Oh wait, it doesn’t end there. Remember Heath ‘Joker’ Ledger setting a huge pile of dollars on fire because he doesn’t work for money and just wants to watch the world burn? Well, this one has Raka polluting a briefcase filled with money and then shouting that he doesn’t work for money anymore because “Mera Rooh Kaala Hai”. The Visual Effects could have been much better. Nothing great about the cinematography either. It is very important to save our Mother Nature from pollution. But it is equally important to save you all from a bad movie. Advice you to watch it at your own risk!
