Totally useless and hopeless!

One of my relatives was admitted due to high fever last month. He was taken to emergency and lot of tests and diagnosis were made but still the reason for his cold and fever was not known.

Since his treatment was covered by insurance the hospital did not even bother to get him shifted to a ward(he was in ICU for about 8 days though he was ok after 5 days).

After getting to the ward, the same story. No proper care, the final bill was over 1 lakh but still the reason for his sickness was not known to the doctors. The amount for doctors visit alone is 20% of the final bill. None could find out the reason for his fever. They were not regular in their visits and some even skipped their visits.

Lot of disposables were asked for no reasons and were wasted like hell The nursing staff were careless and ignorant(even those who took care of ICUs were sleeping in the nights. One of the attenders had to go and wake them up to attend to a patient in the ICU). Even food was not provided for the patient. Rooms are very cramped and not enough space for the attender too. All the support staff begged for tips after each and every visit to ward.

Finally his family had to fight to get him discharged as the ignorant team of doctors were absolutely clueless for the recurrence of his fever. Even the ambulance service was way way below par and very costly even in comparison to top hospitals.

He again got serious and had to get to the hospital after a week and one of the doctors(mr. Lalith Narayanan) wanted to do all the tests again. He was very eager to do the tests for each and everything as the patient had insurance cover. Infuriated, the patient got admitted to another hospital which managed to find the reason for his illness. In short it was a huge waste of 2 precious weeks(had the patient been admitted in the other hospital he could have been cured by now) and over 1.3 lakhs.
