Read the book a long time ago then forgot I ever read the book and read it once again...guess what I enjoyed it again! The reader is at a great advantage reading a collection of short stories rather than an entire novel because you dont have to read all of 500-700 pages to conclude its rotten.
But, everything has its pros and cons. In this case not all arrows in the quiver hit the target accruately (i.e. interest, amaze or provoke a thought process). As usual the law of averages keeps the balance. There are some lame stories where you can see right through the plot for eg. the one in where the gay couple staging an insurance scam. Hopefully some of the good ones make up for such outliers...
On the whole it is a good read....nice timepass....nothing too heavy wonderful for casual reading over an extended period too if you are that type (I read it in one go and feel bad about it).
