Movie WAs Nice - But Read the Book Instead

I am a big believer in ’’the book is always better than the movie’’. In this case, this is absolutely true. If you want to enjoy the essence and beauty of this story - read the book!

The movie is about Jamie (Mandy Moore) and Landon (Shane West) - two teenagers from opposite sides of the popularity fence. Jamie is the shy, sweet, minister daughter. She is the perfect do-gooder and everyone thinks she is a FREAK. Landon is the popular, wild bad boy!

This a story of how these two different people fall in love and how Jamie with her faith and ’goodness’ is able to make Landon a better person.

However, as Landon and Jamie fall in love - tragedy is lurking in the background. I won’t say anymore!

Because I read the book, I did feel that this movie was a bit lacking. I wasn’t overly impressed with the acting of Shane West... Mandy Moore was OK for a singer doing the acting thing.

The movie has a few nice songs by Mandy Moore.
