Can you get worse then this?

Another hyped movie. After giving the blockbuster score for Kaho na pyar hai(which also starred Hrithik-Amisha), RAJESH ROSHAN was supposed to do some wonders for this film also but what a disaster this album turns out to be.The album offers nothing new, fresh or differant.Infact it has a very old, mid-60s feel to it in terms of styling and instrumentation.I fail to understand what has happened to this hindi film music directors? They can’t come up with a single decent score, its been a long time since I have heard something truly great or special. And since AMALL is a love story I was expecting some good romantic numbers but it was not to be.........

There are eight tracks in this album including a theme music.

The album opens with the title track AMALL, which is all over the channels nowadays and is the only song which is worth listening(can’t help but this is the standard of this album).Though the song is very reminiscent of Kaho na pyar hai(title song), it has got nice beats and rythmn and is very catchy and hummable. Its not a extraordinary track but its not bad either.

KUCHH HUM MEIN AISI BAATEN HAI, sung by Sonu Nigam is a youthful song but sounds very ordinary coz of poor lyrics and music. This song sounds like a stage number so HRITHIK’s dancing might help the song to some extent but otherwise it is a total letdown.

O RE GORI, well I haven’t yet figured out what kind of song is this.It is , more like a medley of songs which are in absolute contrast to each other. It starts off in a very semi-classical way followed by a very peppy and upbeat TERA JHUMKA and HINDARU-PINDARU(Wonder!what that means).I doubt even if Hrithik’s dancing can save such a weird sounding song.Though the song is nicely sung by Udit and Pamela jain it is too irritating a song to be heard or liked.

MERI JAAN which is a sad song sung by Alka Yagnik and K.K, is more of a background song with very heavy orchestration. This song has nice music and feel and is listenable but still it is a kind of song which will make a better impact when seen in context of the film.

TUM TO SAGAR JAISI is a love duet sung by Abhijeet and Alka yagnik. There is nothing special about this song in terms of music or singing but since this album does not boast of a single great track it is fairly good.

HAWAON NE YEH KAHA sung by Udit Narayan again is a poorly composed song and fails to impress. This song also sounds like a stage song and is very much similar to DIL NE from KNPH but that beat, rythmn and energy is missing.Even the singing is below average. This song is not even worth a hear.

Now lets come to one of the most ridiculous song I have heard in years’’WE WISH YOU A GREAT LIFE’’which is some kind of a celebration song in which the lover is proposing to his beloved .The song is sung by K.K, Jack and Alka Yagnik and the lyrics by Dev Kohli are absolutely stupid.Wonder what was the need of a English song in a hindi movie?

’’I promise you a great life’’

’’I want you to be my wife’’

Now can anyone explain me what kind of lyrics are this?

The album ends with the theme music which is a instrumental of the title song and though it sounds good it is too short to make any impact whatsoever.

AMALL is probably one of the worst album I have ever heard.Infact after listening to it I was just wondering what on earth made me buy this album? If you wanna know what torture is then listen to this album.Need I say anything more?
