I watched this movie sometime back after a terrible overacting by jyothika. I expected a lot from Soundarya, a seasoned actress that she is. But sadly she has been a let down to say at first.
This is a straight remake of Manichitrathazhu, although the director claims it to be an inspiration. Shame on you Vasu!.
Ok, coming to the story outline, this is regarding the unleashed spirit of nagavalli and how Dr.Vijay (Vishnu) beats it out and cures Ganga(Soundarya), the possessed. I am not going into the detaiuls as every kannadiga will have seen it.
Coming to the details, I do not know the names of other supporting actors. But they are ok. There is no big role for them except to act shocked and feared.
Prema is ok as the gardner’s daughter.
Ramesh is good. I really like the sincerity he conveys through his acting. He has conveyed the anguish of the worried husband very well.
Vishnu - I hope my fellow kannadigas will not mistake me, I think its time for you to shift your roles for more graceful, dignifies elder ones like amitabh instead of trying to pass off as youthful.It is the same scenario in the Indian film industry, be it rajnikanth, kamal hassan, mammooty, mohanlal, chiranjeevi - the list goes on. Some 40+ actor trying to pass off as a college student. But in your case Vishnu, you actually look old. SO if you try to change gears like Amitabh did , I think it will suit you.
I felt Soundarya was a strong letdown especially in the climax. Well, you will also feel the same if you watched the original. Indeed I expected a better perfomance from Soundarya after the mad acting by Jyothika. Although it WAS marginally better, I should say it did not capture the gravity of the spirit.
The music is very good with original compisitions. Gurukiran has done a great job. Raa raa , pata pata and anku donku are good
Will somebody tell me how the voice of soundarya changes while vishnu is narrating how he tracked her?
On the whole, Vasu has diluted the entire mood with comedy, diversions that the entire movie does not culminate in the climax.
