A big thumbs up

Aaswad in one of the few restaurants in Mumbai, ironically, that serves authentic Maharashtrian food. Its a small and humble restaurant opposite the Shiv Sena Bhawan in Dadar.

Looks can be deceiving, so do not dismiss it as yet another Udipi/ South Indian restaurant. It is quite famous in the Maharashtrian circle and is perpetually full. So be prepared to wait for 10-15 mins on any given day.

The decor is simple yet clean. The waiters are prompt and do not waste time. So once you are inside, be assured that your food will be served to you quickly and piping hot! The maharashtrian delicacies Aaswad is famous for includes thali peeth, missal pav, kothimbir wadi, piyush, sabudana wads, kharwas and many more. Along with these authentic Indian snacks, Aawswad has included pizzas, dosas and milkshakes in their menu, to please the kids as well.

My only suggestion to them would be to expand the space, if they can. Considering the popularity and the ever expanding queue to get in, its about time they think about expanding or opening another branch.
