You're daughter knows whats she is doing dad

Radhamohan what a dream run this man with duet movies has been having first it was azhagiye theeiye then it was mozhi now abhiyum nanum produced and starred by prakash raj.

Raghuram played by prakashraj is closely bonded to his daughter abhi played by Trisha ever since she is born . The story kicks off with a guest role played by prithiviraj who is seen playing with his daughter and rahuram who is on his morning walk is so captivated by what he sees and picks up a conversation with him. What turnouts is the narration to him of his own life with abhi as she grows up and the bonding which results in the various emotions and shocks at every stages of her growth is what is the bottom line of abhiyum naanum.

Prakashraj at the helm of affairs has truely given a professional performance . He is married to yester actress aishwarya who plays her part as anu with ease . Trisha as Abhi is pleasent and any dads dream daughter .

The plot is all about the way Abhi grows as a kid the various stages of life where the affection that raghu has on her has to slowly withdraw to a point where finally to see her married off to the the man she loves jogindher singh palyed by debutant ganesh venkatraman is beautifully captured and very realistic . However the director has taken up certain liberties to make the film more lively and light hearted as usual and hence the same can be ignored .

Radhamohan has this habit of presenting sensible pictures with the right dosage of almost everything be it emotions sentiments or comedy with a message to cover it all up and he has been very successful even with abhiyum naanum

There is a cameo of a role by kumaravel a beggar without a name who takes refuge in raghus house on the insistance of his daughter abhi . He plays his part with utter ease and flushes you with tears in some portions with such scintillating performance as an orphan.

The storyline is paced in such a manner that theres no overdose of anything be it sentiments emotions and the comedy which goes with the narration itself. The only let down I can think of is at times you may feel the movie being slow but then you really never feel it as you tend to believe that they had to drag it make it more realistic

Prakash raj as a dad excels be it comedy or the emotions when he struggle to see his daughter part away when she is in romance with jogindher singh is a treat to watch. Ganesh venketraman as joghi is fresh he plays a role as a independant journalist and economist though he gets a call from the prime minister himself is a bit exaggerated but then goes with the stream of things pretty well. Abhis days with her dad who follows her in a jeep even as she cycles her way to school on her first day, followed by the dads advise when a guy proposes to Abhi, then the manner in which she proposes her alleged love for Jogindher to her dad after finishing her MBA at Delhi or be it waking up her dad to take him in boat ride in the middle of the night to celebrate his birthday is all pleasing and sensible. Thalaivasal vijay is Raghus best friend and supports him at every stages of life. Man bala is another clever inclusion and the comedy track with Raghu is new and fresh and surprisingly he is still in the midst of things till the end

.

The days leading to Abhis marriage where in Jogindher who is an orphan ends in Raghus house with a fleet of people is funny and lively . However the director cleverly places the message across through the same at a point when Raghu comes to know that the people who are there in his house are not actually Jogindhers relatives but people who have been adopted by him after every fall out of political violence in the country . Thalaisal vijay has a reason to celebrateat the end of it all as he too decides to adopt a baby inspired by Jogindhers deed and so is kumaravel as ravi shastri marries off jasweender kaur

The music is done by vidhyasagar fairly decent . cinematographer preetha has captured the greenery of Munnar and other parts of Ooty wonderfully well.

Overall the picture is a sensible and very hilarious family entertainer . I personally felt that it had more emotions which you may relate to reality and hence abhiyum naanum for me is an outright winner. The audience would definitely feel good that we have this 2008 ending in the fashion it should with abhiyum naanum .The buzz around as you walk out of the movie hall alas we finally have a clean and decent film to watch with a family and thats very very heartening . kudos radhamohan!
