Respected Sir OR Madam,

I had been holding your Freedom Credit Card No. 383064for the period of 10 Months (Jan 04 – Oct 04) and returned it with cancellation request on 13 Jan 2005. I have never accepted the Second Card offered by you.

Now, the points to be noted in respect of said card –

• Over the period of 10 months, I had utilized total amount of Rs. 34010.00 (In words Rs. Thirty Four Thousand & Ten only) out of my allotted credit limit of Rs. 48000.00. Out of which Rs. 30000.00 was Balance Transfer (which has less interest as I was told). I have never redeemed the Bonus Points.

• I had paid Rs. 9310.00 (Rs. Nine Thousand Three Hundred & Ten only) during these 10 months. Hence the Principal Balance sums up to Rs. 24700.00 (Rs. Twenty Four Thousand & Seven Hundred only). We can consider a lump sum interest of 1.5% p.m. which would be Rs. 5100.00 (In words Rs. Five Thousand & One Hundred only) [Rs. 510 X 10 months]

• The total outstanding amount for settling the account was Rs. 29800.00 (In words Rs. Twenty Nine Thousand & Eight Hundred only). I had issued a Cheque of Amount Rs. 30, 000/- (Which actually should be 29, 800/-) in favour of the card account, cheque no. ’’277803’’ dated 15-12-2004 drawn on Bank of Maharashtra, Mayur Colony, Pune; which was the full & final settlement amount for the Credit Card No. 5415 3823 0420 7582.

• Even after all this your executives and collectors kept calling me and bothering me every now and then without a single document or authorization making me feel unsecured and at risk all the time.

• In my LAST letter I stated that ABN-AMRO is the most ineffectual and unprofessional Bank I have ever experienced. You have proved my point only by repeatedly calling me, sending me letters and statements in the said regard. I am going to file a suite for harassment and mental torture against you. I am already forwarding a copy of this entire communication to the Press, Consumer Court and Commissioner of Pune Police. Now let us resolve this matter by the way of law, as you are not showing any sensible conduct.

Good Bye.

Manish Puranik
