I got my Acer some 2.5 yrs back.....that time it was pretty cheap for a laptop but my happiness was short-lived as turned out to be a somewhat "disposable laptop". The battery gave up in an year or so....right after the warranty expired! The speakers stopped working in about 6 months but luckily I got them changed in warranty period.
In about 2 yrs time the hard disk gave up. I need to check it for consistency every time I boot. Lately I got some some colored vertical lines on my laptop screen which makes it useless for watching movies n stuff. So it seems the screen is counting its last breaths.....and I hope my laptop doesn’t give up before I complete this review. :)
One strange problem I encountered was that every time I switched on my lappy the system was unable to detect the sound drivers with windows OS. I had to go to control panel and search for them manually every time I switched on.
As I understand from my experience, the company was trying to make a disposable laptop which one can use for 2 years and then throw away!
My suggestion.....never get an Acer in life!!!
