My journey here @ mouthshut has been superb, its been 3 months and I am a happy member of this website, and in last 3 months I’ve written about many things, many are still left and the one which I am writing about today is My Acer Aspire 4720z Laptop. Purchased on 27 November 2007 and still performing very well. As I use it for my personal work, I ve never had any issue regarding the performance technically, looks certainly decent, though you cant compare it to VIAOs and Dells, but its amazing in its own way.
When I was choosing the laptop, the concern was performance with definitly budget, as I had to be under 35K, so VAIOs were straightaway out, and even Dell, so I was left with Intex, SAHARA, Compaq, but all of them were just not worth what I was looking for. Intex, well you cant even rely on thier desktops as I had one, so forget about their Lappys.
SAHARA - That was the first time I heard about Sahara laptops, so skipped that as well. Compaq - Rs 25000, but no looks, no Config @ all, my friend had that and he strictly warned me for not choosing it. So my option was very much clear, that I had to go for an Acer. It was under 35K, very good Config, good on looks, and Acer was a known brand to me. I finally chose an Acer Aspire 4720z, and have been using it from 18months, but now, my brother uses it reularly @ his shop as I am now working, so do not get time to use it much.
My brother, well he is a real hard Laptop user, and loves playing games on it, installed EA sports cricket 07, and after 18 months, still their is no Hardware related problem, keyboard is still fine, touch pad still great, screen perfect, battery backup very good, and even after wear and tear, playing games, flashing mobile in it, using Memory cards of phones and all that, it still runs great.
Bluetooth is Great.
Sound is very good,
We are running it on XP, I have used vista as well but the performance wasnt that good with Vista as it is Dual core not Core 2 Duo, so for max performance, Xp is good option, I ve even tried Linux Open Suse 10, it runs great on it but again, as I dont use it now, so I am running it on Xp so my brother can use it, easily.
Well, if you want a decent Laptop with decent looks, hardcore performance, good hardware, good configuration, and good brand name, Acer 4720z is definitly a YES.
