Don't Surf Without Adsubtract

A few years ago I went in search of an pop-up blocker program. I went to https://zdnet.com to look through all the goodies they carried. I was impressed with Adsubtracts features. Not only did AdSub block pop-ups, but it did numerous other things, like blocking advertisements from being displayed, this let my slow Internet connection load pages faster. (I have since read that it actually does not speed up connects if you have a high speed connection, but does not slow it down either).

Other ADsubtract features include Blocking Java stuff, stopping annoying background music, and background images. But the list does not stop there, it blocks cookies from loading too, unless you want them too. Gee, sounds great huh, but wait, it just keeps getting better. It blocks referrals, it blocks animation, it stops unwanted auto-refreshes. Gee about the only thing this thing does not do is block your IP addresses from getting through (for that you need another program).

But there is a drawback, this free program had a limit on slots you could custom configure to allow this and that. Five sites were all you could customize. I needed more, but the pro version was the only way to do that. You want to customize sites like Ebay, Mouthshut, ect to allow cookies so you don’t have to log in each and every time. Sites you trust and most of us have more than 5 we need cookies for.

I paid the 20 or 25 bucks for the pro version and have loved it every since. It is the best, I repeat best 25 buckaroos I have spent.

One other little note, this configures your Internet explorer to use a proxy server slot 4444. Please don’t freak out computer geniuses, this is normal. BTW. this program works great with ZoneAlarm (the free version). You will have to allow Adsubtract to access the Internet though, as it is using port 4444 to access the net.

There is NO spyware with this program, so feel safe downloading it. It is fairly easy to use, but you have to take a few minutes to get familiar with the interface. You will need to configure sites you want to have cookies and that takes a little time at first.

My first review gang, what do you think. I tend to be pretty tough on ratings, but this is an absolute wonderful program.
